HOW DO I HATE THEE
By
Michael Edwin Q.
How do I hate thee? Let me count the ways
My hatred is as deep as a cesspool
Wide
as a garbage truck, and as
High as a mountain of cow dung
Piled up beyond human reach
Beyond the human eye
But not the sense of smell
I hate thee to the level the law will allow
And then some
I hate thee fully, as men strive for air
I hate thee with the sole purpose of hating
thee
I hate thee with a fervor that puts
everything I do to shame
All my life I believed in nothing so much or
so great
As my hatred for you
I hate thee with a hate that humiliates
demons
I hate thee to my last breath
I smile only at your misfortune
I cry over any good that may befall you
My hatred for you is my life’s goal
And, if I have my way
I will hate thee better from my grave
